One of the challenges of building this cart was making everything so that I could be removed if it was not able to handle the powder coat process. I welded nuts to my caster plate so that they could be removed and the slides for the tray were designed to be easily removed when this cart goes out for powder coating.
This is one of the many test fits along the process.
Everything fits and there is room to breathe.
There is plenty of room on the tray to allow for a note pad or tools in use during the build process.
The flip up monitor is really cool. I love this feature. There is plenty of room for a bigger monitor down the road and notes a white board on the side for now.
I researched gas struts on the web but in the end I went to the auto parts store bought the cheapest pair and made them work.
All three main components and a battery back up in the cart with the keyboard shelf slid out.
The entire unit slides under the plasma table when not in use.
